In our family of five children we've relied on Christian Science healing and have witnessed quick healings of contagious diseases, cross-eye, and injuries caused by a fall from a moving car, among other healings. My husband was not a student of Christian Science, but he supported our reliance on Science and was grateful for its healing power.

While our children were still young, I was not a member of The Mother Church, because I had not overcome the smoking habit. Over a period of years I continued to pray about this, but the false appetite did not yield. Then during a time when I telephoned a Christian Science practitioner for prayerful help for one of our children, who had an injured finger, I mentioned my struggle with the smoking habit. By the next morning not only was my son's finger healed but the false appetite was completely and permanently gone.

About five years ago I was quickly healed of an eye injury. Three years ago sporadic pains in my legs interfered with normal activity and rest. Although this was only slightly apparent to others, I felt fearful and limited. I spent much time in prayerful study and in striving to be obedient to the instructions of our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, to pray daily for ourselves and the world. This brought progress in overcoming self-will and criticism.
