Several years ago our son was bitten by our neighbors' dog
Several years ago our son was bitten by our neighbors' dog. The attack was unprovoked and unexpected. We brought our son home, assuring him of God's constant and loving care. A Christian Science practitioner was called, and he prayed for us. The severe swelling in our son's leg was soon gone. The wounds closed quickly, and the healing was complete in just a few days. There are no scars or other aftereffects, and our son plays freely with pets, showing no hesitancy or fear.
When this same child was an infant, he developed a recurring breathing difficulty. In praying about this, often I recalled Hymn 144 from the Christian Science Hymnal, which begins:
In atmosphere of Love divine,
We live, and move, and breathe;
Though mortal eyes may see it not,
'Tis sense that would deceive.
