Let your light shine!

Emily's happiness at being healed made her want to share her experience. Our joy can also lead to such sharing.

Have you ever wondered if it would be right for you to tell someone else about Christian Science? Would you be proselytizing? Or would you be motivated by a sincere desire to share a healing truth and a wonderful way of life with another? It's a fair question, since few of us wish to have something as profound and individual as religion forced upon us. Yet it's only natural to want to share with others what has brought help and healing to us.

Christ Jesus once told those followers who believed in him: "Ye are the light of the world.... Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Matt. 5:14, 16.

What is this light shining in us that produces good works and glorifies the Father? This light is mentioned in the record of creation as the Word of God, which, according to the Gospel of John, "lighteth every man that cometh into the world." John 1:9.
