A serious back difficulty returned me to the study of Christian Science. During the time I was neither studying nor practicing Science, this difficulty developed and I had gone from doctor to doctor and had been in and out of hospitals. Yet the trouble persisted and, in fact, got worse.
Finally, one night in desperation I cried out to God for help. It came strongly to me that I didn't have to be suffering this way.
The next day I asked my daughter to go to a Christian Science Reading Room and purchase a copy of Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy. I started reading the book with a great spiritual hunger and could feel the despair that had burdened me begin to melt away.
