As a student of Christian Science, over the years I have had many proofs of the value of persistence in striving for healing. The healings of periodic, intense headaches and seasonal head colds are two such proofs. These healings occurred over ten years ago and have been permanent.
The spiritual growth that comes to us during a time of persistent effort has a lastingly good effect on our lives. As we read in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 400), "By lifting thought above error, or disease, and contending persistently for truth, you destroy error."
"Contending persistently for truth" helped me gain release from trouble I had with my arm and shoulder. There was a restriction in my shoulder that prevented free movement of the arm. This difficulty continued for several months, and I didn't appear to be making any progress. However, I refused to be discouraged.
