Prayers for PC
Mr. Masterson was on his way to work. He had to drive on a busy road, and there was a lot of traffic. Stopping for a red light, Mr. Masterson noticed a black dog with brown spots running in the street between the cars. It looked as if she were trying to get into cars, but none of the other drivers was paying attention.
Mr. Masterson didn't want to be late for work, but he also loved dogs. So he opened his car door, and the dog jumped right in. Then Mr. Masterson turned his car around and drove home.
Of course he wanted to help the dog find her owners, so he checked the dog's collar. There was a telephone number, but it was far away in Arizona. Mr. Masterson lived in California. How did the dog get from Arizona to California? Mr. Masterson wondered.
