I would like to tell about my first experience with Christian Science. Several years ago I had a severe pain in my back and went to a large hospital in Los Angeles. The doctors took X-rays, which showed a dislocated disk. They said the spine was deteriorating, and a nerve was being pinched, causing extreme pain. They thought I should be operated on right away. I told them I would think about it, but I did not have the operation. I went to a chiropractor and felt better for a while.

In 1986 the pain started again. I went to a chiropractor recommended by my insurance company. He told me he could not do anything to stop the pain. I was in constant pain and could only work part time because of the suffering.

Later on that year a friend came to see me. When I told her about this problem, she offered me Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy. The next day I started to read this book. One day while I was reading, the pain went away. I was so happy. I threw out all the pain pills I'd been taking and thanked God.
