My family's first healing in Christian Science came when my mother was healed of a tumor. She had been scheduled for an operation in a local hospital. A couple of days before the operation she decided to have Christian Science treatment from a Christian Science practitioner. As a result she was completely healed. When she telephoned the doctor to cancel the operation, he asked Mother if she would come to his office so that he could examine her. She did, and the doctor confirmed that the tumor was completely gone.

As a result of this wonderful healing, my father became very interested in Christian Science and began reading Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy from cover to cover. One morning about this time, when my mother was frying eggs for my father's breakfast, I (as a small child) asked for some eggs also. Mother said, "No indeed," as my parents had found that feeding me anything with even a trace of egg in it always made me swell up and be sick for days with an allergic reaction. But my father said that he would pray for me with what he was learning in Science and Health and that Mother should go ahead and give me some eggs. I was perfectly healed and ate the eggs without any trouble; and I've been enjoying eggs ever since!

I met my wife in a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, and we reared all three of our sons in Christian Science. Now our five grandchildren are experiencing that same privilege. What a blessing!
