I would like to express my gratitude for all the testimonies in the Christian Science periodicals with another testimony of my own. (My last testimony was published February 24, 1986.)

While in the midst of a busy work schedule and much on-the-job training, I noticed a small lump on one of my legs. At this point I thought nothing of it, being more concerned with my job. However, within days the lump had expanded greatly. It was never diagnosed, but it appeared to be a large, painful boil, with other distressing symptoms. Feeling a need for help, I asked two Christian Science practitioners at different times to pray with me. Their words to me were those of compassion, hope, and above all, of my present perfection as God's likeness.

One night in prayer I asked myself, "Where in the Bible can I go for inspiration and guidance? Is there anyone there who can offer me a spiritual solution to my problem?" The story of Job, of course, came immediately to thought. He had not just one boil, but his entire body was covered with this troublesome condition. I read the account in my paperback Bible, highlighting passages that stood out to me. One of these was "All the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come" (Job 14:14). A verse in Psalms also came to thought. It was "Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord" (Ps. 27:14).
