For many years, whenever I took the examination for renewal...

For many years, whenever I took the examination for renewal of my driver's license, I would be tested and "must wear corrective lenses" would be put on my license.

The time to renew my license was nearing once again. I decided to be more consecrated in praying about vision. As a result of my study of Christian Science, an idea came to me strongly that vision is not merely a personal possession but is spiritual reflection. So I was not working to restore something I had owned and had lost, but I was realizing that man actually reflects God's qualities as His spiritual expression.

When the time came for the driver's test, including the eye examination, the examiner told me, "I am removing the requirement that you wear glasses." I walked out of that office "on air," so grateful I could hardly express it. It was not so much not having to wear glasses that made me rejoice as it was overcoming a false material limitation, and drawing closer to God.
