Man—the image and likeness of God—has an indestructible relationship to Him. I am grateful to have proved time after time that holding to this truth always results in blessings.

A few years ago I attended a Wednesday evening testimony meeting in a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, in a city distant from my home. Many of the testimonies given by members of the congregation dealt with divine protection. After the meeting I boarded a streetcar to return to my hotel. I was the only passenger. At one stop, five young men got on the car. Two of them sat in front of me, two sat behind me, and the fifth sat next to me.

My first thought was of my vulnerability to assault, especially since the streetcar had entered a long tunnel and was out of public view. Then I remembered the helpful testimonies I had heard. I tried to look more deeply into the situation and realized that all of us were under God's protective care. I knew that God's love and law encompassed each of us.
