I'm grateful for a sense of the God-given safety and inexhaustible supply belonging to man—God's spiritual idea—learned as a child, because this understanding has helped me many times.
I lived alone for some years. One night I was wakened by a man's voice saying, "Keep quiet and I won't hurt you." There was a pillow over my face, and my hands were pinned down. "This is a robbery. Give me your money," he said.
Reaching out to God in prayer, I silently knew God's presence and power. I felt led to say, "God will take care of us!" Hearing this—the message of God's care for him—caused the man to become less tense. I prayed silently that there is nothing to fear in the allness of God's power. I knew that there and then I was safe in the care of the Father-Mother, God. I saw that because God's child is always in His dear love and governed by His law, he is safe and has nothing to fear.
