Having known no other spiritual guide but the teachings of...
Having known no other spiritual guide but the teachings of Christian Science, I have learned to view life as a grand adventure. The many demonstrations I have had of God's power and presence have been steppingstones to a fuller understanding of my spiritual nature as God's idea. Certain experiences have been beacons, clarifying specific spiritual concepts.
Christian Science was indispensable in raising our four sons. When our first son was about six months old, he became quite ill. As my husband and I comforted and cared for the baby throughout the night, I earnestly prayed to God, "If what I have learned in Christian Science is true—that You are all-powerful and ever-present—I need to know it now."
Then I realized that our child was really God's child and that he had always been in His care. The room seemed to be filled with light, and clearly God's message of truth came: "I am All. He is well." With tears of gratitude I saw that God knows nothing of sickness. He continuously supplies His children with health. I thought, "Who am I to believe that His child can be sick?"
