I had a testimony published in 1971 in which I told of my healing of the desire for and use of tobacco, alcohol, and drugs. This healing has been permanent. I have continued to be greatly blessed through applying the teachings of Christian Science in every facet of my life. Not least among the evidences of God's loving care have been my marriage to a wonderful, practicing Christian Scientist and the harmonious birth of our lovely, joyous daughter.

With daily reports of violence and terrorism in today's media, I'd like to share what was to me the awe-inspiring deliverance from a potential mugging—for myself as well as another.

I had just attended my Christian Science Students Association meeting in New York City. As I left the church where it was held, my thoughts were filled with the absolute truth of man's present spiritual identity. I had an overnight bag slung from my shoulder and was on my way to where my car was parked.
