Recently, during a Wednesday testimony meeting in my branch church, I testified to a fine healing I had had in Christian Science. In sharing this healing I felt a special sense of joy because for so many years I could not speak freely, as I stuttered too badly.

Our mother passed on when I was four. We three children grew up under the supervision of several housekeepers, while my father struggled with a difficult business situation. In high school I developed a severe stutter. This handicap continued through college, where I had to take written tests while others took oral ones. When I was in college my father married a devoted student of Christian Science. Soon, under her loving guidance, we all began the study of this teaching.

Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy gives the Lord's Prayer, with its spiritual interpretation. It begins (p. 16):
