Effective parenting—finding its basis in God

There are many, many books and magazine articles on the topic of being a parent. There are seminars and conferences focusing on subjects ranging from liberating children to raising children with stricter discipline. Child-related theories on education, discipline, religion, recreation, intellectual stimulation, and health abound. What consistent method can parents follow to ensure the best education, growth, and discipline for their children in all of these areas?

For many parents, two books have proved indispensable in the raising of their children. The first book is, of course, the Bible, which is filled with spiritual wisdom, guidance, and teaching. The second book unlocks the spiritual message of the Bible and is called, appropriately enough, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. It was written by Mary Baker Eddy.

To say these books have proved indispensable may seem a sweeping statement, but as you come to understand these books better, you will see why this is so. They offer so much more than mere human advice; they are divinely inspired. They're books that can raise all of us to a truer perception of God and of man—helping us understand how God made and sustains man spiritually.
