MY PRAYER

Once I prayed,"Make me fast and swift,Lord, like the gazelle.Let me dazzle likethe jeweled peacock.Give me the strong andfearless step of the tiger."

Now I pray, "Help mebe patient Lord.Humble me,make me tortoise-meek.Teach me beauty inthe simple joyof a sparrow's song.Make me to knowstrength,in the guileless stepof thetiniest sheep."
