About eight years ago my two best friends passed on

About eight years ago my two best friends passed on. Being involved in settling their estates kept me busy for a time, but afterward I missed them very much. At this time the practitioner of Christian Science who was helping me through prayer recommended that I read through Science and Health and Mrs. Eddy's other writings, a few pages a day I found this marvelously helpful. When I finished these writings, I started reading them over again. There was certainly growth going on in my thinking and my practice of Christian Science at that time.

The following year my dear husband of thirty-seven years passed on. I wondered how I could possibly go on, and also how I would ever make ends meet. The same practitioner who had helped me before assured me of God's providing us with all we need now. Mrs. Eddy writes (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 307), "Never ask for tomorrow: it is enough that divine Love is an ever-present help; and if you wait, never doubting, you will have all you need every moment." I found that, more than ever, Christian Science was my lifeline, but I realized also that study and prayer in Christian Science must be on a regular, disciplined basis. This I worked to accomplish.

My needs all were—and continue to be—met. I was even able to purchase a new car. In the past year I moved to an apartment in a retirement community, where I am very happy. I am profoundly grateful for my home and for the peace of the surroundings.
