Each Lesson-Sermon published in the Christian Science Quarterly—Bible Lessons is designed to be complete in itself. That is, the Tigris-Euphrates valley in what was known in ancient times as Babylonia. Babel, the name of the city and tower built here, is the Hebrew form of Babylon—suggestively similar to the Hebrew verb balal, to mix or confuse.
