Throughout my life I have found the teachings of Christian Science to be the surest means of meeting day-to-day challenges. God's healing and protective care was especially evident to me while I was working for several years in the Far East.
My work as an officer of an international development institution regularly took me to remote districts of the region's developing countries. Although I found myself in isolated areas—sometimes on far-flung islands—I was continuously comforted by Biblical assurances of divine Love's ever-presence. These verses in Psalms were especially meaningful (139:9, 10): "If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me."
