When I was a new student of Christian Science, I had an experience...
When I was a new student of Christian Science, I had an experience that astounded me and two witnesses. It was during the depression period of the 1930s. My wife and I had been earnestly praying to know that as God's beloved children we could suffer no lack, because He would meet all our needs.
Soon we received a letter from a friend who was employed in the construction of the Boulder (Hoover) Dam powerhouses. This letter said that if I could come right on down, there was a job as an electrician waiting for me. We were indeed grateful. I left for the job site immediately and went right to work upon arrival. Again through prayer, an apartment soon became available so that my wife, Patricia, could join me, and she arrived shortly thereafter.
A couple of days after this happy reunion my helper and I were approaching our workplace, a wide-open pit ninety feet deep where a generator was to be located. A carpenter was constructing a huge rack on the very edge of this pit and had placed two planks as a footbridge across the opening near the edge, providing a detour around his project.
