Having received much inspiration and encouragement from...
Having received much inspiration and encouragement from testimonies I have read in the Christian Science periodicals, I would like to share two healings for the benefit of others.
The first healing was one of severe headaches. Some years ago I often suffered from these, which someone in my family had once told me was an inherited condition. After I had class instruction in Christian Science, I saw the utter falsity of this belief of heredity. I knew that in reality God is man's Father-Mother, and that all I had and could have was good. I also studied Mrs. Eddy's definition of man, found on page 591 of Science and Health: "Man. The compound idea of infinite Spirit; the spiritual image and likeness of God; the full representation of Mind."
The headaches lessened in frequency after this, but I still had them occasionally. So I continued to pray. Then one day I had a headache of such severity that I couldn't read, pray, or even lie down. Suddenly a simple thought came to me, and I declared it aloud: "I AM THAT I AM." (I recognized it as God's revelation of Himself to Moses in the desert—see Ex. 3:14.) Immediately the headache left, and I was free. I never suffered from headaches again.
