Discipline and the art of healing
Ballet dancers exercise each day at the barre. Throughout their lives they practice with discipline the same steps and stretches. The dancers know that from these simple pliés and battements may emerge the grandeur of a Swan Lake performance.
As Christian Scientists, we too have a daily training program composed of certain core exercises. We know that these warmups help us develop the fundamental building blocks of metaphysical fitness.
The Lord's Prayer is basic to our daily preparations. Also, in the Manual of The Mother Church Mrs. Eddy requires daily attention to several essentials. One of these is the "Daily Prayer." It reads as follows: "'Thy kingdom come;' let the reign of divine Truth, Life, and Love be established in me, and rule out of me all sin; and may Thy Word enrich the affections of all mankind, and govern them!" Man., Art. VIII, Sect. 4.
