A lesson about the Lesson*
The east lightens,
waking me to a day
scribbled full
on my calendar.
No time for study—
I must be DOING!
As feet touch carpet,
I remember a friend's
teasing question:
Why wait until the battle
is half over
before putting on
your armor?
I open my books.
As God's day dawns in thought,
spiritual light flows in.
As the glow strengthens,
so am I strengthened
to meet the day
with energy, courage,
and joyful expectation.
I set forth bravely
with my armor on.
