Dominion over violence

The Bible tells us that God is Love, always available in times of trouble to those trusting in Him. Yet even where sincere people are earnestly praying, violent terrorism still seems prevalent. Surely a deeper understanding of the true nature of God and of man's relation to Him is needed. Otherwise the complete supremacy of good would be apparent, and evil would not command headlines in world affairs.

The mistake lies in regarding God, divine Mind, as somehow disconnected from daily living. If we are to overcome the violent attempts of evil, a clearer discernment of God's omnipotent presence, with man as His perfect expression, is called for.

Sometimes our very prayers implicitly reject the fact of man's inseparable spiritual unity with God. Pleading for help while believing God, divine Love, to be separated from us would leave the assurances of divine protection as words in a book. We would be stuck at the wanting stage—instead of having the promises of God's Word proved in our lives as the substance of living truth. The need is to know of God what the Bible records Him as saying: "I am the Lord, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me." Isa. 45:5.
