A bridge of light

A bridge of light across a darkened stream
whose currents claim to grasp and sweep away
all things—event, accomplishment, hope's gleam,
all individuals, their work, their day—

Truth stands, unmoved, is broad enough for all.
Its ready might and comfort hold, sustain,
those who, with their own strength, had feared
to fall
and sink. For God's expressions all retain their vigor and reliability
since Truth maintains them, forms a perfect floor
through which no man, idea, verity
can slip. And understanding this, no more we find a stream of darkness, fear, or blight.
The bridge has grown to be the all of light.
