I am very grateful for Christian Science

I am very grateful for Christian Science. My mother and father were divorced while I was still a baby. Later, my father began studying Christian Science, and when I was about twelve years old, he sent me copies of the Bible, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and the Christian Science Hymnal. I really didn't understand what I read in these books at first. However, I kept them and read them occasionally.

After I was married and had children of my own, I became serious about learning more of Christian Science. At one point our daughter was healed of tuberculosis (see testimony in the Sentinel, April 22, 1967). Years later, X-rays taken in connection with her job confirmed the healing.

Both children attended a Christian Science Sunday School. One time the boy was to go to a carnival, but he couldn't hold down any food. So I called a Christian Science practitioner. The child was able to sleep all night. The next morning he was excited and ready to go. I called the practitioner to report the progress, but I also expressed concern about what the child should eat. The practitioner said the prayerful work had been done and the boy could eat normally. He did and had a wonderful time at the carnival.
