God's goodness—available now
God is ever present! And all the good He has to give us is available right now. Why, then, do we sometimes feel that we have to delay or postpone receiving good?
Some people may respond, "But I don't quite know how to find the kingdom of God and His goodness." And others may say, "I do know that God is good, but for some reason I just don't follow through on what I've learned." Both these attitudes of thought yield as we pray and grow in a spiritual understanding of God's care for man.
In the Old Testament we find Job voicing the longings of the human heart to know God in a fuller, more immediate way. He says, "Oh that I knew where I might find him! that I might come even to his seat!" But he touches on the way to find the answer to his desire when he says, "I would know the words which he would answer me, and understand what he would say unto me." Job 23:3, 5.
