Recently I realized that it has been more than twenty years since I expressed my gratitude for Christian Science in writing. During this time I have experienced many practical proofs of the power of prayer and gained a growing understanding of God and of man as His image and likeness.

Two physical healings I would like to share came about as follows. Several years ago I manifested a very painful and irritating condition I later learned was probably shingles. At the same time I also developed an infected ankle which made it almost impossible to walk.

Constant prayer, study of the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, plus sometimes singing hymns from the Christian Science Hymnal, all contributed to the eventual complete healing of both conditions. From Hymn No. 304 with words by Mrs. Eddy, the phrase "I will listen for Thy voice" was a particular help and guide. The faithful and loving daily prayer of a Christian Science practitioner and the support of my husband frequently aided me through sleepless nights.
