When questions arise regarding contagion and the care of children in Christian Science, I can offer the following incident.
When my son was about three years old, there was a neighbor's child he enjoyed as a playmate. One cold morning, when the snow was deep outside, our son's friend came over and the boys played quietly together. About noon the boy's mother picked him up and took him home for lunch.
The following morning, this child's mother called. She was most apologetic and said that her son was broken out solidly with measles. She said that she had taken him for an inoculation but was now puzzled because it obviously had not "taken."
