Discover your real Father

Christ Jesus, that master Christian, referred to God as Father. For example, when teaching his disciples to pray, he began with the words "Our Father." Matt. 6:9. He also commanded his followers, "Call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven." Matt. 23:9.

The understanding that there is only one Father, God, promotes our spiritual progress and frees us from dependence on human parents.

At the time of our mother's passing, when I was still an infant, our home was abandoned. Father, older sisters, and brothers did not remain together. A home was established for me with my mother's family. Some years later, when I was a young child on my way to school, a strange man stopped me. He asked if I knew who he was? I had never seen him before, so I replied, "No." Continuing to look at me, with tears in his eyes he said, "My son, I am your father."
