Early one morning while it was still dark, I awakened to a flood of light in thought, which illuminated the whole path of my life since Christian Science came to me more than forty years ago. I was filled with gratitude for this vision of divine Love's continuous care over the years.

Later, as I pondered this moment of spiritual illumination and its significance, I felt moved to send this testimony of gratitude. (A previous testimony was published in 1955.) Our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, says in The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany (p. 164): "What is gratitude but a powerful camera obscura, a thing focusing light where love, memory, and all within the human heart is present to manifest light."

During these years there have been healings of physical conditions including that of a scalded arm; protection from grief; the blessed privilege of helping others; and the recent joy of serving a full term as First Reader in my branch Church of Christ, Scientist.
