I am so grateful for the many proofs of God's love that I have seen in all aspects of my life. Through the study of Christian Science I have come to recognize that what I am working toward each day is a better understanding of God and my relationship to Him—to let this more spiritualized understanding of God as Life govern my experience.

Every once in a while the question used to crop up, What would you do if you were faced with a serious problem? While I was on vacation in Hawaii a couple of winters ago, this question was put to rest for me.

On my first day I had decided to spend only an hour at the beach just to get used to the strong sun. I had been on the beach a short time when I felt thirsty and went to the refreshment stand for a drink. While waiting in line, I began to feel dizzy. I was able to order my drink, but the next thing I knew I was sitting on the ground with a lifeguard at my side. He told me I had fainted and asked me if I was all right. I assured him I was, and he helped me over to a shady area of the beach. I sat there for a few moments, quietly assuring myself that there never was a time when I could be separated from my Father-Mother God or be unconscious of His presence. Then I returned to my room.
