Bare feet in the winter?

It has made me laugh many times. I was looking out my living room window one winter day. There was my neighbor, walking barefoot down the middle of the street!

As I watched him from the warm comfort of my home, I felt the mental discomfort of self-righteousness and criticism. Don't you know you could get a cold from that? I thought.

Guess who got the cold a few days later? I did. As I prayed to see what needed healing in my thought, I remembered the incident and corrected my thinking. I realized that God, divine Mind, is the only real power. Consequently, matter has no actual intelligence. There is no intelligent power in ice or snow to produce a cold. God, good, fills all space and governs His entire creation, which is wholly spiritual. The actual identity of both my neighbor and me is God's spiritual idea, man. As God's incorporeal idea, man is never ill. He is not vulnerable to discord-producing conditions, physical or mental. As I realized God's absolute control over my life I was quickly healed.
