Overcoming pride
Christ Jesus said, "For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts." Mark 7:21. And among the errors he named was pride.
Pride suggests inequality. So pride supports the materialistic belief in superior and inferior persons, races, places, positions, possessions, and powers that seems so characteristic of mortals. Obviously, however, Jesus taught that pride could be overcome. Christian Science, following Jesus' teachings, shows that evil of every sort—even the sin of pride, inwardly and subtly cherished—can be conquered.
Pride would brazenly array itself against the oneness and ever-presence, the infinite individuality and omnipotence, of God, good. But since God is the only Mind, Spirit, or Ego, pride must be found out as only a mistake.
