In heaven always ...
Discouraged once again, lost in anguish
For what seemed the thousandth time
To face recurring pain (relief often immediate)
Only to come again,
"What's left for me to learn, Lord? Can I go much deeper?"
"Yes," a voice said, "closer to Me."
As a refugee, quiet, deep in earnest prayer,
I read how the Bible told of vessels multiplied,
Supply found, a larger care.
Why, inspiration never left! Where could it go?
I had been in heaven always—not to and fro.
My prayer was answered, the prison opened, the pain ceased,
A life was changed, a love made more real.
Thrilled, my thought soared far above earth's stark charade
So close to the very heart of God—
And the inspiration stayed!
