I wish to express my gratitude for Christian Science and to say how grateful I am that this wonderful religion was presented to me a number of years ago.
In 1983 the sight in my right eye was growing dimmer. Since I have a friend who is an optometrist, I went to see him in order to learn whether new glasses might be necessary. (I had not had an eye examination in over ten years.) After examining my eyes thoroughly, he gravely advised me that I would have to have an operation. He said that a small blood clot had formed inside the retina and would have to be dissolved by a laser beam. And he added that only an eye surgeon could perform the operation, which would have to be done in a hospital.
Without my asking for it, the optometrist gave me the name and address of an eye surgeon whom he strongly urged me to see immediately. My optometrist friend asked me to return to his office thirty days after the operation for another complete eye examination.
