The true picture heals
Sometimes we have an experience that seems hard and unpleasant, but later we realize that through it so much error was uncovered and destroyed, and so much Truth seen, that it was actually a blessing.
One such experience made it very clear to me that injuries and disease are only dark mental pictures of belief, mesmeric suggestions, which Christian Science destroys by presenting the spiritual reality: a perfect, universal Father Mind and His immortal, perfect children, His very image and expression. John says of this loving Father, "God is light, and in him is no darkness at all." I John 1:5.
One Wednesday evening I was on my way to the nearby branch Church of Christ, Scientist, when I had a bad fall. When I came to, I felt dazed and numb and could not see out of one eye. But I felt God very close to me. I knew He had not changed in these last few moments, and in reality neither had I as His reflection. I knew firmly that there is no lapse from the harmony that divine Principle maintains.
