My father brought Christian Science into our home in the early years of the Church of Christ, Scientist, in England when I was still a child. The seed was sown then but remained dormant for many years, although I did attend Wednesday testimony meetings in a branch church with my father.
The time came, when I was married and had a family, that I felt I needed to make up my mind as to what religious teaching to give the children. I prayed to know what I should do, and the message came very clearly to choose the highest good. So I knew I must choose Christian Science.
Although I had made up my mind to go ahead, I did not find the way easy. Soon after I started attending services in a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, a very painful condition developed in my back and hip. I asked for help through prayer from a Christian Science practitioner. When I went to see her, the practitioner recognized, I think, that I needed to be roused to see that Christian Science heals.
