No ruminating allowed!
How many times do we find ourselves rehashing, reliving, or reconstructing some event of the past? And how often do we say, "If I could only stop ruminating"?
The Bible can be a tower of strength for us in our desire to stop ruminating. As we devote more time to study of the Bible, we find passages that actually come alive in their working effect in our lives. By thinking about them and their deep spiritual content, we can heal ourselves of the false desire to rehash past events.
For instance, the Bible tells us: "Be still, and know that I am God" Ps. 46:10. and "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee." Isa. 26:3. No way to ruminate, to dwell on memories of the past, when our mind is stayed on God!
