How Christ Jesus' life can help us

How helpful the example of Christ Jesus' life can be in showing us what the understanding of Truth can do for mankind. More than just serving as an admonition to be good, pure, loving, and helpful to others, his life illustrates profound metaphysical truths. If we accept these truths as pertaining to all of his followers as well as to him, our ability to demonstrate Christian Science will be seen to flow from God, Spirit, Himself.

Mrs. Eddy writes in Science and Health, "The life of Christ Jesus was not miraculous, but it was indigenous to his spirituality,—the good soil wherein the seed of Truth springs up and bears much fruit." Science and Health, pp. 270–271. The healing, Christly life Jesus lived was natural to or flowed from his spirituality.

Christ Jesus thoroughly understood his innate spirituality. He stated, "I and my Father are one," John 10:30. and "The Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works." John 14:10. He recognized his spirituality—acknowledging that his very identity was the Christ, the ideal manhood of God's creating.
