The miracle of His grace
Let's shed
the burden of inadequacy; in unshod
meekness, yielding unreservedly to God,
we'll feel the power of His grace
transforming us.
God's all-sufficient grace, truly felt
and yielded to, can soften fear-hardened thought
and melt
mountains of self-condemnation, so the lilt
of hope's resurgent song and new
expectancy of good break through.
Grace gives graciousness that never bruises
thoughtlessly, arrests and defuses
explosive moments with delicacy that eases
tension, and patience that treads softly through
the intricacies
of another's sensibilities.
As a gentle evening breeze
cools and refreshes
the air, God's impartial grace, reflected, brings
heartsease
and renewed sweetness
of reconciliation to each troubled place.
Panoplied in the supremacy of His grace,
we'll have dominion to face
down fear's aggressiveness; we'll sacrifice
cherished human outlining for confidence,
deep-anchored in His foreknowing providence.
Let's stretch
our cramped consciousness, breach
barriers of disbelief, and reach
out for the heavenly release
of life transformed by the miracle of His grace.
