To understand Christian Science
Perhaps you've just started to read some of the Christian Science periodicals or to attend church occasionally. You're attracted by the hope and comfort you find in the message of Christian Science. And you've discovered that there's something about the joy and love you find in church members that's rather special. But you wonder if you'll ever really understand what you're reading and hearing about this new concept of God and man. Then, this editorial is written especially for you.
First, you should know that you're not alone. Nearly everyone who comes into Christian Science has the challenge of learning to think about life in an entirely different way than he's previously believed possible. Even those individuals who grew up with this scientific and religious teaching and attended Sunday School still have to prove through their prayers and study that what Christian Science teaches is the truth and that it does heal.
And that's the way to start in gaining an understanding of Christian Science—through prayer and study. They both are God-given ways of learning and feeling His presence and power.
