Whose universe is it?
Hugging her precious infant to her, the young mother reveled in the joy of parenting. Then suddenly she felt a surge of fear as she overheard two women discussing an outbreak of contagion in the neighborhood.
She reached out to God and was comforted as she recalled this verse from the Bible: "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty." Ps. 91:1. She knew that the child was actually God's spiritual child and that God was ever caring for him, protecting him, maintaining him. As the perfect expression of divine Love, he couldn't be touched by evil of any kind, because there is no evil in Love's infinitude.
I was that young mother and remember well the fear I had to combat. But I gained my peace, and the contagion did not touch our home.
