Friends of different colors

Hi! I am going to tell you about healing racism. Racism is when people of different races don't get along. Like, for example, when black and white people won't be friends. In the Bible it says, "Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us? why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, by profaning the covenant of our fathers?" Mal. 2:10. And if we have one Father, that means we are all brothers and sisters, right?

I was adopted, and all my family is white, but not me—I'm mixed. My brother is ten years old and I am eight. My friends are not just one color. I have black friends and white friends. I don't judge on color. If I did, I would miss out on a lot of fun. One of my best friends is black. Her name is Jojo, but Beth, who was my friend since I was a baby, is white, and I still like her. She is in my class at school. So you can make friends of different colors if I can.

When I was five I would be discouraged if someone made fun of my color. But not now! Because of Christian Science, I have been learning how to be rich in spirit. Science and Health says, "The rich in spirit help the poor in one grand brotherhood, all having the same Principle, or Father; and blessed is that man who seeth his brother's need and supplieth it, seeking his own in another's good." Science and Health, p. 518.
