Looking back over the many healings I have had since attending my first Christian Science Sunday School class, I feel indeed grateful that I began learning of the goodness and power of God at an early age.

My first healing, in fact, occurred when I was a young Sunday School pupil. My wrist became pinched when the back seat of our family's station wagon fell forward during a sudden stop while we were on our way to church one Sunday. Upon our arrival at the church, an usher calmly helped by moving the seat to release my wrist. But I was still in considerable discomfort.

Once we were inside the church, a Christian Science practitioner responded to our request for prayerful help. I will never forget her gentle, loving assurance that man cannot be injured because he is always in the presence of God; and I had learned in Sunday School that God is present everywhere, all the time. The practitioner and I then repeated together "the scientific statement of being" found on page 468 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy—something I had also learned in Sunday School.
