Be what you really are
Why strive—or even aspire—to be what you already are? A good question. But do you know who you really are? For instance, do you know that right now you are the perfect, spiritual child of God—lovely, intelligent, healthy, and happy? You are. God knows it, and it is His will that you know it.
But you might say, "I'm not perfect. Just see all the imperfections." What you are seeing is a counterfeit, and through spiritual sense you can discern the difference between you and the counterfeit that claims to be you.
God, Spirit, has created you in His own image and likeness. Therefore, at this moment you fully reflect God's spiritual goodness. This is what you really already are. So anything that deviates in the slightest degree from your perfect being must be classified as a counterfeit. God knows nothing of the counterfeit. Ungodlike, unlovely thoughts produce their own make-believe.
