Nicki helps her mom
Nicki helped her mom learn an important lesson. Here's how.
She was in Hawaii with her parents. One day they went to Black Sand Beach, where the sand is formed from black lava that has been finely ground by the ocean waves.
Nicki and Mom decided to walk along the beach. They could see shells and pieces of coral gently swishing back and forth with the waves. They found pretty pieces of orange and white coral, and shells. One tiny shell was the most beautiful Mom had ever seen. It was creamy white, barely an inch long, with a narrow rippled edge. A delicate black dot decorated the tip of each little arch along the opening.
