Not long ago I realized that although over many years I have expressed gratitude at Wednesday testimony meetings for countless healings and blessings gained through an understanding of God in Christian Science, I have never submitted a written testimony. I do so now with great joy and gratitude, having proved to myself many times that God is the only true physician, and that Christian Science treatment is effective, redemptive, and heals permanently.

In my own experience I have had healings of various bodily complaints, some quite severe, apparently affecting internal organs; also healings of muscular pains, impairment of sight and hearing, electrical shock, and many others. The healing Christ, Truth, as revealed in Christian Science, has met my every need, including supply, the healing of grief, and countless instances of protection from accident and loss.

When our first son started school he became ill and then appeared to grow worse, even though we were having help through prayer from another member of my family (also a Christian Scientist). The child's father became alarmed by the physical condition and requested I take him to a doctor for a diagnosis. As we were not seeking medical treatment, I explained the situation to the doctor once we arrived. He diagnosed the condition as double pneumonia and said that if the child were his, he would place him in a hospital iron lung immediately. However, because we had chosen to have Christian Science treatment, the doctor told me he would like to see the child in two weeks' time.
