I had gone through the Christian Science Sunday School and was finishing my college years. Church and religion, I decided, were to be put on the shelf for the time being. I began exploring the fabled pleasures of the world, indulging in vices that I thought were enjoyable and helpful in getting "in with the crowd." As I began pursuing a career, I wanted to prove I was self-sufficient. Reliance on God no longer seemed necessary.
